Summary

HELLO!

My name is Yasmin, I am 19 and working as an events coordinator for Bespoke by The Crown at Woodbridge. I left sixth form and went straight into full time work as university just wasn't for me. Working in hospitality means pretty much giving up your weekends and work all the unsociable hours known to man. Don't get me wrong, I love my job but being young, you sometimes just want to let your hair down and have some fun. A good friend of mine, Kate, done the whole university thing, graduated and decided that then was a good time to do some travelling. I knew of Kate in and around school but it was when I started work, where she then worked, that we become to get to know each other. Cut the long story short, we both decided that we really wanted to travel America and it just seemed a great time to do it.
Up until January it was just one of those things we kept talking about until we both decided one week to simply just book it. That way it was definite. Flights to New York on 4th June, flights home from L.A on 20th August (well for me, Kate's heading off to Australia after! Awesome!).
Literally that day we booked it I was like a hyperactive child. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, I told everyone and anyone all about it. Since then I've been resisting all the Topshop mid-season sales, the new added items on Asos and a few bargains on eBay. Not going to lie, it has killed me saving as I do like my clothes, but I have done quite well.
Now we are both in our final month before we set off to see the sights and I cannot tell you how excited I am. I am also terrified, nervous and freaking out a little but none the less, extremely excited.
Today I have sorted everything with my bank, tried out my rucksack, made a list of things to buy, arranged travel arrangements to/from airport (good ol' dads ey) and researched what others would recommend we should do/take/remember etc etc. So yes, it's been quite productive and I am starting to feel organised.
I've always gone on holidays abroad with both family and friends, but it's always been package holidays where you just go with the flow as everything's booked and ready. This time nothing's sorted other than flights. I love being spontaneous and just seeing what will happen when we get there, but it is also a little out of my comfort zone. AHHH.

Anyway, this is just a brief summary of what's happening at the moment. I am writing this blog so I can note everything I see, everywhere I go, and everyone I meet. I am a picture freak so if you want to see the amazing sights of America, you will sure see all that here or on my Instagram.
